- Choose a descriptive title for your listing! It should include the brand name, make, model, and current condition, if applicable and available.
- Provide a description that gives the buyer a good idea of your art material and gear up for grabs. This should include the state of the item. Decide which of these qualifications describes best your item's state and quality. We encourage you to apply the below to your title as well. ****
- Brand New: The item was never opened or removed from the manufacturer's sealing. The item is in its original shrink wrap.
- Like New: The item looks like it was just removed from shrink wrap. It has no visible wear, and all facets of the item are flawless and intact.
- Very Good: The item is used but still in very good condition. There is no damage to the exterior or cover: no scuffs, scratches, cracks, or holes. The cord, box, and instructions are included.
- Good: The item is used but in good condition. It may have minor damage to the exterior or cover, including scuffs, scratches, or cracks. The cord, box, and instructions might be included.
- Acceptable: The item has obvious and significant wear but is still operational. The cord, box, and instructions may not be included.As well, give your shopper a little history of how you have used your materials and gear. Is there anything unique they should know about it? Please detail any and all additional or unique features, missing parts, parts that have been repaired, and notes on cosmetic flaws, including what cases and accessories are included.
- Pick up or Delivery? You decide, or even both! Choose whether your buyer can pick up and/or ship their items. Currently, on SOLA Market, you can set a flat shipping fee for each listing.
- For Pick-up, we strongly advise and require all meetings to be done in a public area during the daylight. We also encourage you never to go without a friend or without communicating with a loved one you are picking up from a SOLA Market seller.
- Here at SOLA Market, we take safety seriously. We are building a ZERO-tolerance community built on trust, safety, and personal well-being for all. If you feel unsafe or threatened or have experienced an unsafe and harmful interaction on SOLA Market while transacting online or in person, please get in touch with us immediately.
- SOLA Market is working to build a network of meet-up points, but in the meantime, we encourage you to find a local gallery, art studio, or museum convenient for you both to meet.
- Select your location. Type in a nearby landmark or location to your local location in your given city. Please note if you put your home address, it will not be reflected or detailed on your listing
- Set your price! Not sure what to price? Use the 50-30-10 RULE:
- Near-to-new items should be sold for 50-75 percent of their retail price.
- Slightly used items at 25-30 percent of retail.
- Well-worn items at 10 percent of retail.Pricing should reflect the price of similar items of the same condition across SOLA Market. Do your research, and as we grow, we will have tools to help you easily identify the right price!
- Snap and upload pictures! Please upload at least 2-3 pictures showing the item's front, back, sides, and internal condition. If there is any damage, please include images of that as well. Having trouble uploading photos? You can email them as an attachment to [email protected]. Pictures make or break your listing, make sure pictures are taken in good lighting from a nearby window, overhead, or with flash. Also, it helps to take pictures in a space with little distractions surrounding or in the frame. Think of it as taking your best ID or passport photo for the new journey your pre-loved gear is going on ;)!
- Next, hit publish! You are now listed on SOLA Market, and your gear is ready to be shopped by your larger art community.
When an item is purchased
- SOLA Market will send you an email and as well as a new purchase will originate in your SOLA Market inbox. Go to profile> tap inbox> see all recent purchases.
- Click on the purchase. There you will find information regarding your latest sale, including notes from your buyer, relevant shipping/delivery information, and as well as any replies.
- Choose whether to accept the purchase and keep your listing open or accept the purchase and close your listing.
- The next and most important step is left to you as the seller to fulfill the purchase based on the shipping, delivery, and exchange you have defined with the buyer.
- For sellers, there is an expectation that your sold item is given to your buyer within 7 days.
- Upon completion of the sale, the buyer will mark your order complete. You both as buyer and seller, will leave feedback on your transaction to ensure SOLA Market remains a productive marketplace for all.
